Was it hard to learn the rules of the road? Was it hard to learn to ride a bike or drive a car?
For some, it is. For some it comes easy. For some, they do it so they can learn and enter into the world. I think cybersecurity is the same in that regard.
The TLDR; is no. Cybersecurity is not hard.
Cybersecurity is like the IT space. It has a web of underlying sections. Imagine a library, you enter it and there are rows of genre, with sub-genres. That is what Cyber is. No one is all around knowledgeable in the entirety of the cyberspace, unless you a quantum computer reading this, then I stand corrected.
Similarly to driving a car, many people outside of the US don’t have a drivers license because driving is not a necessity in the environments they live in. Cyber is very similar, except I believe everyone needs to a cyber license to navigate the web-roads of the internet. (I am quite biased though, being a cybersecurity expert and all. 😅)
You should learn the licenses that are relevant to what you do:
- Social Media License
- Online Shopping License
- Streaming Entertainment License
- Online Gaming License
- Reading News and Blogs License
- Online Learning and Education License
- Banking and Financial Transactions License
- Content Creation License
- Research and Information Gathering (All you Google Dr.’s🥼) License
- Communication and Messaging License
So you have read the top ten listed items that the average person uses the internet for.
And no, there is not legitimate cyber licenses for these items, but I am willing to provide you with a nice printed out one. Free of charge. In exchange, you have to promise me to learn the material so we can protect your digital life. The way to sign up is to subscribe and keep reading. I will post the information for the relevant license. Complete the all and you are one step closer to being a cybersecurity SME. (That is a fancy corporate acronym for Subject Matter Expert).
Note: I’m just starting out. The whole, throw everything to the wall and see what sticks methodology. Sorry in advance.
